Find your Sahara walking route
From M’Hamid towards Foum Zguid, our routes cross high dunes, stony plains and tamarisk country. Erg Zahar, Erg Smar and Erg Chigaga are different places within this desert, reached on different itineraries. The way we travel and choose our camps comes from our nomadic life here.
Compare days on foot separately from road transfers. Pick-up in Marrakech, Ouarzazate or Agadir and return to the starting city depend on the programme you choose.
Choose your walking pace
Gentler routes involve 2–4 hours on foot a day; more demanding stages can reach 6–7 hours. Check the daily itinerary before choosing.
Know your camp arrangements
A guide, camel handlers and cook travel with the caravan. Camels carry luggage and camp equipment. Toilets and showers are available only at a fixed camp when included.
Choose private or shared
Private treks start with one traveller; shared departures require two. Groups have a maximum of 15. The desert season runs from mid-September to mid-May.
